The Information Technology Department works with other Washoe Tribe departments and programs to implement and support technology to improve government operations and provide better services to Tribal members. The department is working to put technology to its best use throughout Tribal government to improve the administration of Tribal programs and services.

The mission of the Information Technology Department is to provide quality information technology (IT) services and solutions to the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California in order to provide cost-effective solutions that facilitate and improve the conduct of business for our Tribal members, businesses, programs, and government entities.

The Information Technology Department is organized to provide a broad range of technologies including server and desktop computers, database administration, local and wide area networks, voice and data technologies, web services development, video conferencing, and emerging technologies. This is accomplished by investing in the development of employees along with contracting outside vendors who maintain a level of expertise that is not available in-house or is limited due to the demands for a particular service.
