Chairman Walker’s goals during his first term are to address the various needs of tribal members through community outreach programs, economic development and fiscal management. He stresses supreme level of customer service from all departments in order to foster collaboration between communities, their members and departments. In order to reach out to Tribal members, Chairman Walker has set aside Tuesday and Thursday afternoons to meet with community members and discuss their concerns and expectations. The Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California registered tribal members elect a Chairman every four years. As of December 1, 2006, Waldo W. Walker assumed the responsibilities of the Chairmanship on behalf of his people. He has succeeded former Chairman A. Brian Wallace, who held the position for 16 years.
